All-new Zeekr 001 EV arrives in China; delivers up to 1000km of driving range

KUALA LUMPUR: Geely-owned electric car brand, Zeekr has started the deliveries of the all-new Zeekr 001 in China. The updated EV benefits from key improvement under the bonnet along with a new battery pack with no major revisions in terms of aesthetics, as reported by Car News China.

In terms of performance, the EV runs from zero to 100 kmph in 6.9 seconds.

    It should be noted that Zeekr is the first automaker to use the new Qilin batteries from CATL, which are based on the company’s third-gen cell-to-pack battery tech. The record-setting volume utilisation rate of these batteries exceeds 72% while the energy density is rated at 255 Wh/kg. 

    Another version is a dual-motor four-wheel drive which delivers 544 PS and 686 Nm of torque. It comes equipped with a ternary lithium battery with a capacity of 86 kWh or 100 kWh that enables the EV to cruise up to 546 km or 656 km on a single charge. Performance numbers include a century sprint of 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 200 kmph.

    Zeekr offers the 001 in three striking tones - orange, blue, and night black. The pricing starts at RMB 300,000 (RM 193,882) and goes all the way up to RMB 403,000 (RM 260,449).
