Aspark Owl unveiled at 2019 Dubai International Motor Show

KUALA LUMPUR: The world’s fastest accelerating car, Aspark Owl, has been unveiled at the recently concluded Dubai Motor Show, which was held between November 12th to November 16th. It will be produced with the collaboration of Manifattura Automobili Torino at Turin, Italy. Only 50 units of this hypercar will go to production.

The Aspark Owl is equipped with four electric motors, which are capable of offering a maximum power of 2,012 PS along with a peak torque of 2,000 Nm. The car can speed up from 0 to 96 kmph in just 1.69 seconds. Besides, it takes 10.6 seconds to accelerate from zero to 300 kmph. It has a maximum speed of 400 kmph. The car features four drive modes along with an all-wheel torque vectoring system.

The 800-volt electrical system helps to run the motors, which is further aided by a 64 kWh lithium-ion battery. It is capable of offering a driving range of 450 Km. The battery can be refilled in just 40 minutes if it is connected with a 44 kW charger.

Suspension-wise, there is a double-wishbone hydraulic unit that offers to adjust the height of the ride between 800 mm and 160 mm. The components of the powertrain are placed on the carbon monocoque structure, which weighs around 120 kg. There are carbon-ceramic brake discs present to take care of the stopping duties. The front units are further clamped by 10-piston callipers, and the rear ones get four-piston callipers.

Equipment-wise Aspark Owl specs sheet mentions a deployable rear wing and cameras, a reverse camera, an infotainment system, a climate control system, ambient lighting, keyless system, four interior display screens, etc. Moreover, an array of active aerodynamic highlights are featured to make the air-flow efficient.

The Aspark Owl price tag reads 2.9 million euro (RM 13,275,520) and one need to pay an initial deposit of 50,000 euro (RM 228,919) to book.
