Audi reveals 2020 RS5 Coupe, Sportback

KUALA LUMPUR: Audi has pulled the covers off the facelifted RS5 Coupe and Sportback for the year 2020. Pricing of the new versions starts from 83,500 euros, which is approximately 385k in the Malaysian currency.

Regarding the changes, Audi has mainly updated the styling and the infotainment system. These two top-spec models will join with the likes of 2020 A5 and S5 counterparts, which made their debut in September.

Speaking of the designing, the RS5 Coupe and Sportback is based in the recent A5/S5 facelift. The pair comes with new LED headlights, and the LED DRL graphics is revised. For the latter one, the matrix LED with laser lights come as the option.

Furthermore, there are a unique pentagonal designed, contoured air inlets along with a shorter Singleframe radiator grille. The rear diffuser gets a new design and features honeycomb mesh. It rides on 19-inch wheels and has a carbon-fibre roof. There is also an optional new 20-inch set of wheels, which are available in three different designs.

2020 RS5 Coupe and Sportback comes with a new 10.1-inch MMI touchscreen display. There is also an option to upgrade it to the MMI navigation plus that has the brand’s own MIB 3 operating system along with specific RS monitor.

Moreover, there is a new 12.3-inch Audi virtual cockpit, which can be upgraded to the Audi virtual cockpit plus having RS-specific performance graphics and multiple displays. The car gets RS sport seats with leather-Alcantara mix wrapping. There is an option to have Nappa leather too.

Both the cars are equipped with the same 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged V6 TFSI mill, which is capable of churning out a maximum power of 450 PS along with a peak torque of 600 Nm. It takes just 3.9 seconds to complete the famous sprint from 0 kmph to 100 kmph.

The car can achieve a maximum speed of 280 kmph. The engine is paired with an RS-specific eight-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox and is equipped with Audi’s Quattro permanent all-wheel drive.
