BMW Group Malaysia delivered 13,500 vehicles in 2024, leading Premium & EV market

KUALA LUMPUR: BMW Group Malaysia concluded 2024 as Malaysia's leading premium automaker and electric vehicle (EV) provider, delivering over 13,500 vehicles across its BMW, MINI, and BMW Motorrad portfolios.

According to BMW Group Malaysia, the company successfully retained its position as the number one Premium EV seller in Malaysia, as they delivered over 2,700 EVs in 2024.
This achievement contributed to a cumulative total of nearly 33,000 electrified BMW Group vehicles on Malaysian roads to date.

The BMW brand excelled in 2024 with over 10,500 vehicles finding new owners, led by the wildly successful BMW X1 sDrive20i, which saw nearly 1,500 units delivered—a staggering 195% jump from the previous year.
MINI also had a stellar year, with more than 1,400 vehicles sold, driven by the locally assembled MINI Countryman and the electrifying All-Electric MINI Countryman SE ALL4.
Meanwhile, BMW Motorrad continued to be appealing to bikers, delivering over 1,600 motorcycles, especially with the adventure-ready BMW R 1250 GS, which stole the spotlight.
BMW Group Malaysia accelerated its electrification journey in 2024 with the launch of 27 new models, including 12 fully electric vehicles. Leading the charge was the bold and sporty BMW iX2 xDrive30 M Sport, which quickly became a customer favourite, delivering over 460 units in just nine months.
To support and help boost EV adoption in Malaysia, the Group pushed and expanded its charging network to over 2,020 facilities, teaming up with local partners such as Gentari and ChargEV to make EV ownership more convenient.
Customer satisfaction remained a cornerstone of BMW Group Malaysia’s success, achieving the highest global net promoter scores across all three brands—BMW, MINI, and BMW Motorrad. Financial services also played a vital role, with over 4,500 contracts financed, 46% of which were for electrified vehicles, supported by digital solutions like the Self-Service Portal on the MyBMW app.
Strategic milestones in 2024 included the 20th anniversary of the BMW Group Regional Parts Distribution Centre in Johor Bahru, which saw significant upgrades to support sustainability and logistics efficiency.
Additionally, the Group exported over 11,000 vehicles to the Philippines and Thailand, reinforcing Malaysia’s position as a key logistics hub for the ASEAN region.
On the global stage, BMW Group recorded over 2.45 million deliveries of vehicles, including 426,000electric vehicles, marking a 13.5% growth in its fully electric segment.
These performances underscores BMW Group Malaysia’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and leadership in the premium automotive and electrified mobility sectors.
