Bookings open for DS7 Crossback, priced at RM 199,888

KUALA LUMPUR: The DS Malaysia lineup currently includes only one car, DS5. However, now that’s all going to change, as the French automaker’s official distributor in Malaysia, DS Stone PJ is taking bookings for the brand’s latest car, the DS7 Crossback. Also, it was only a while back when the price of the car was released on the brand’s official Facebook page. To the best of our knowledge, the DS7 Crossback will be available in only one trim option, i.e., Performace Line. This variant carries the same specs as the model that debuted at the KLIMS 2018.

The DS7 Crossback price for Performance Line trim is RM 199,888, and it includes 120,000 km/5-year manufacturer’s warranty. Also, the first 100 buyers can enjoy free service for three years. The DS7 can be picked in three color options - Absolute Red, Platinum Grey, and Nero Black. Once entering the Malaysian market, the car would compete against the likes of BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and Audi Q5.

Justifying its price tag, the car gets a premium design and high-tech features. On the outside are present four-element LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights, DS Wings grille, LED tail lights, and 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

The cabin is packed with many comfort and convenience features. Included in DS7 Crossback specs sheet are equipment like 12.3-inch digital display instrument cluster, 8-inch HD touch infotainment system, flat-bottomed leather-wrapped steering wheel, and Black Basalt Alcantara seats.

Powering this new DS SUV is a 1.6-litre THP four-cylinder petrol mill that churns out 165 hp at 5,500 rpm along with a peak torque of 240 Nm at 1,650 rpm. A six-speed automatic transmission unit sends power to the front wheels.

Further, the DS7’s safety kit is impressive too with features like ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Programme, six airbags, Dynamic Stability Control, Anti-Skid Regulation, Emergency Brake Assist, Driver Attention Warning, and 2 ISOFIX mounting points.
