Chery Malaysia puts TIGGO front and centre for 2026, more CSH models coming
KUALA LUMPUR: Chery Malaysia is doubling down on SUVs for 2026, and it is putting the TIGGO series right at the centre of the plan as it continues to grow in the Malaysian market.

Chery says the TIGGO series remains its core SUV line-up in 2026, with more electrified models using its Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) direction. When is Chery Malaysia launching a new flagship model?
Chery says a new flagship luxury model is planned for the second quarter of 2026.The brand says the TIGGO nameplate will remain its core focus, while its electrified push will lean heavily on Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) as the next phase of the line-up takes shape.

To understand where Chery is heading next, it helps to look at how it has built its range since arriving here in 2023. That first year was anchored by two SUVs, the Omoda 5 as the attention-grabber, and the TIGGO 8 Pro as the flagship.
In 2024, Chery expanded the TIGGO family with the TIGGO 7 Pro, and also introduced its first battery-electric model, the Omoda E5, which was the brand’s early signal that electrification was always part of the plan.
By 2025, the pace picked up. Chery widened the TIGGO line-up with the TIGGO Cross, offered in both Turbo (ICE) and Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) forms, and this was also the year CSH started to become a bigger part of the story.
In October 2025, Chery brought in the TIGGO 7 PHEV and TIGGO 8 PHEV, marking its entry into the plug-in hybrid segment, and giving the TIGGO range a wider spread of powertrains across petrol, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid.
That electrified slice is still smaller than the ICE side for now, but it is growing. Chery says CSH variants contributed 21% of its total sales in 2025, with ICE models making up the remaining 79%. At the recent Chery CSH Appreciation event, Lee Wen Hsiang, Vice President of Chery Malaysia, said the mix is expected to shift further this year, “For 2026, we anticipate that our CSH products will grow to represent 30% of our sales mix, driven by rising interest in advanced hybrid vehicles among Malaysians,” said Lee Wen Hsiang, Vice President of Chery Malaysia at the recent Chery CSH Appreciation event.
2026 product plan, more SUVs coming through the year
On the product front, Chery’s 2026 schedule is set up as a steady roll-in rather than one big burst. The company has already started the year with the launch of the entry-level TIGGO 8 in January. From there, Chery says it will introduce a new flagship luxury model in the second quarter of 2026, which is positioned to sit at the top of its SUV line-up locally.
The third quarter is where the brand says it will add two more models, although details are being kept quiet for now. One is described as a new offering focused on stronger performance and broader versatility. The other is framed as a younger, more style-led evolution of Chery’s design direction, aimed at buyers who want something more expressive.
There is also one more introduction planned for the final quarter of 2026, and this one is tied directly to the latest developments in CSH technology, which Chery is using as the backbone for its electrification growth locally.
Chery says this expanding line-up is backed by a cumulative sales figure of 30,073 units from 2023 to 2025, driven by increasing customer acceptance, a wider dealer footprint, and a range that has diversified quickly.
The TIGGO family, in particular, has become the main volume driver over time, contributing 16% of sales in 2023, rising to 37% in 2024, and reaching 66% in 2025. Together with the Omoda series, Chery ended 2025 with total sales of 12,930 units.
Chery’s footprint in Malaysia has grown alongside the sales numbers. The brand currently reports 59 sales centres, 54 aftersales facilities, and 25 body and paint outlets nationwide. However, rather than chasing rapid expansion for its own sake, the company says the priority now is improving the capability of existing outlets, with an emphasis on more consistent service standards and a better ownership experience.
Part of that customer-facing upgrade includes a new showroom identity. Chery is rolling out its Generation 4 showroom design in Malaysia, and the first outlet to adopt it is Chery Perai in Penang. The refreshed site carries a more modern look, with black steel structural elements, an updated Chery logo, a larger interior layout, and a waterfall blue facade lighting treatment. Chery says more 3S and 4S centres will gradually adopt the Generation 4 identity as the rollout continues.
Two national awards for TIGGO electrified models
Chery also used the event to highlight recent recognition at the Malaysia Car of the Year 2025 awards, where it took home two wins tied directly to electrification. The Chery TIGGO Cross HEV was named Crossover xEV of the Year (Below RM120,000), while the Chery TIGGO 8 PHEV received the Most Energy Efficient Vehicle for 2025 title.
“We are especially proud to see the TIGGO Cross HEV resonate so strongly with Malaysian drivers, alongside the TIGGO 8 PHEV. These awards reflect the strength of our electrified technology, from intelligent power management to the seamless balance of strong performance and impressive fuel efficiency.
“For us, this also reinforces that we are bringing the right products to meet the needs of our customers, while reflecting Chery’s growing role in electrified mobility and our ability to meet Malaysia’s evolving expectations for energy-efficient and eco-conscious vehicles,” adds Lee.
With TIGGO positioned as the main pillar, and CSH expected to take a larger share of the mix in 2026, Chery is clearly betting that Malaysians will keep moving toward hybrids and plug-in hybrids, as long as the pricing and aftersales support stay convincing.
