Coronavirus: Good News Bulletin - Nature Special Series

In the series of spreading positive updates on coronavirus outbreak, here we have come with another bunch of the bright side of the pandemic. Because of the lockdown in several countries, the people are no longer on roads, which means no traffic and no pollution, so how nature is healing itself at this time, read on.

Clean water in Venice

One of Italy's biggest tourist attractions, Venice which usually attracts the visitors throughout the year. But as we know, the country is poorly hit by coronavirus pandemic so no visitors for now. Amid all this, the local people have observed that the water in the city's canals is becoming more clear that one can see small fishes swimming around it. Really, it is a spot of light in the darkness of the pandemic.

Cleaner air

Due to the lockdown situation, people are staying at home, working from home, which leads to a drastic reduction in traffic on roads and sky. A significant decrease in pollution levels in the countries has been recorded. So coronavirus shutdown has resulted in unexpected climate benefits in the form of cleaner air.

Less emissions from coal combustion

Coronavirus has halted the world’s emissions growth. Along with the good air quality, the number of airborne pollutants is reducing drastically due to decreased driving and less coal burning.

Further reduction in emissions

The levels of domestic energy consumption are rising due to staying at home but on the other hand, commercial and industrial consumption is decreasing across the countries. So eventually, it results in fewer emissions.
