Daihatsu to display 5 cute cars at 2021 Tokyo Auto Salon

KUALA LUMPUR: Yes, 2021 Tokyo Auto Salon will be happening, virtually of course, due to the pandemic. And like always, automakers have begun preparing for this popular auto show with full force. The Japanese automaker, Daihatsu, for instance, will put on display five cute/fun show cars, all part of what's called, the Daihatsu Village Colorful Carnival.

Part of the Daihatsu Carnival is a pickup truck that goes by the name Hijet Truck Sportza Ver, a Copen Spyder Ver roadster, off-roading Taft Crossfield Ver, Thor Premium Ver van, and Camper Ver truck.

Let's now know each of the Daihatsu show cars in details -

Hijet Truck Sportza Ver

This one is based on the Hijet commercial pickup truck, however, here Daihatsu has removed the roof, making it more of a fun ride. At the front, we see a sporty front fascia blessed with a short windshield that sure attracts a lot of attention. At the side are present red alloy wheels, and side-exit exhausts. On the inside, the sporty appeal is continued through the red racing seats. Engine details are not yet revealed by the automaker.

Copen Spyder Ver

This one is a roadster and looks a little less weird than the Hijet Truck Sportza Ver seen above. The go-cart proportion of the car only looks better by the chopped windshield. Making it more fun are inclusions like BBS wheels, Momo steering wheel, 63 hp pumping 660cc 3-cyl mill, and a specially tuned suspension.

Taft Crossfield Ver

Taft here stands for 'Tough & Almighty Fun Tool' and so this one is a pure off-roading machine with looks justifying its virtue. It gets a roof rack, two hooks, chunky-off-road rubber, and a bumper guard.

Camper Ver

This one is again based on the Hijet commercial truck, however, unlike the Hijet Truck Sportza Ver this one looks a bit more practical and calm. On the outside, it features a massive roof rack, making it a good loader. It also gets a beautiful light blue and cream hue combo.

Thor Premium Ver with D-Sport

This one sure looks most impressive in the lot and its teal & silver paint job makes the deal more stunning. The highlighting features on the outside include a roof spoiler, side skirts, and bumper lips.

More information on the Daihatsu colourful show cars is expected to be revealed in the coming days. The 2021 Tokyo Auto Salon will take place on January 15.
