Fiat confirms 500X Dolcevita for the UK market

KUALA LUMPUR: Okay, first things first, the 500X Dolcevita is the new, open-top version of the ongoing 500X crossover. And the UK is the first market to be graced by this gorgeous car. The automaker has opened its order books for this £23,975 (approx. RM 137,461) Fiat.

As it is an open-top car, we have to discuss the roof. It is large, electrically controlled, and open/close in 15 seconds, even at speeds up to 100 kmph. Also, this roof canvas is offered in three colour options - Red, Black, and Grey, and can be paired with any of the ten available exterior body hues.

Note, that the open-top 500X Dolcevita does not offer the full convertible experience like one provided by the VW T-Roc Cabriolet. Also, it is one of the only supermini SUVs on the market with an open top. It is a part of the refreshed 500 family that included updated versions of the - 500X crossover, 500 city car, and 500 MPV. And like the rest of the 500 family, this one too is available in three trim options - Connect, Cross, and Sport.

As the name suggests, the 500x Dolcevita Connect version comes equipped with a 7-inch UConnect infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and DAB radio. It rides on 17-inch alloys and gets black fabric upholstery along with a faux leather steering wheel.

As for the 500X Dolcevita Cross, it showcases a more rugged design language, while the Sport version is more on the athletic side. Both of them get an automatic air-con system and 19-inch alloys as standard. The Sport model gets additional gears like - black sport seat with red piping, 3.5-inch driver info panel, and aluminium effect dash.

What powers the Fiat 500X Dolcevita? On offer are two engine options - a 1.0-litre three-cyl turbocharged unit making 118 bhp, sending drive to front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox. Next up is the more powerful, 1.3-litre 4-cyl petrol unit pumping 148 bhp and paired to a DCT auto unit.

So, what do you think of Fiat's latest open-top SUV? Let us know in the comments.
