Ford Opens Bookings for Mustang

KUALA LUMPUR: Ford has announced recently about the pre-launch bookings for the new Mustang, which is an official beginning and it will launch in December in Malaysia. It has been displayed at Publika shopping centre in Solaris Dutamas for awareness of the people.

“This 2.3-litre EcoBoost fastback is a perfect fit for Malaysia, because it delivers the legendary power and performance that a Mustang driver expects, while addressing today's demands for exceptional fuel efficiency and all with head-turning style,” told by Veemala Rethinasamy, Ford Motor Company Malaysia Sales and Marketing Director.

The company will offer two variants which have already been told. The first variant is the turbocharged 2.3-litre EcoBoost fastback with 310 hp, and its price range is between RM 435,000 to RM 450,000. The second version is the classic 5.0-litre V8 fastback with 435 hp is estimated between RM 550,000 to RM 565,000.

The recent sixth-generation Mustang will be available in five colours: Shadow black, Oxford White, Deep Impact Blue, Magnetic Grey and Race Red, with a special Triple Yellow Tri-Coat colour which is available for the 5.0-litre V8 variant only. It is built in the United States at its Flat Rock Assembly.

“The new Mustang builds on its unmistakable heritage- and it's quicker, better-looking, more refined and more efficient, without losing any of the raw appeal that people have loved about Mustang for half a century,” told by Veemala.

According to the Indian standards, the Ford Mustang will also be built with the configuration of right-hand drive (RHD). Three options will be available for the sixth-generation of the car:

• 3.7 litre V6 engine churning out 300 hp with 366 Nm.
• 5.0 litre V8 with 420 bhp of power and 530Nm of torque.
• 2.3 litre EcoBoost engine with 305bhp of power and 406Nm of torque.
