2025 Ford Ranger Raptor Sport 3.0 launched in Malaysia, from RM273,888

KUALA LUMPUR:The Ford Ranger Raptor is getting a new special-edition variant in Malaysia, with Sime Darby Auto ConneXion-Ford rolling out the Ranger Raptor Sport 3.0 as the nameplate hits its third anniversary here.

Priced at RM273,888 on the road without insurance in Peninsular Malaysia, and RM277,388 in Sabah and Sarawak, the Ranger Raptor Sport sits as a premium, limited-run take on Ford’s performance pickup recipe. It is available in two colours, Arctic White and Meteor Grey, and will be in Ford showrooms nationwide from 15 November 2025, with limited units released.

Under the bonnet is the familiar 3.0 litre twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 petrol, tuned by Ford Performance to make up to 397 PS at 5,650 rpm and 583 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm.

The hardware that gives the Raptor its reputation off road is all still here, including FOX 2.5-inch Live Valve Internal Bypass shock absorbers with race-proven Bottom-Out Control, aimed at keeping the truck composed whether it is on the highway or charging down a rough trail.

Specific to the Sport are beadlock style wheels. Out of the box, they are fitted with “beauty rings” for everyday use, but the rims themselves are drilled with threaded holes so owners can fit proper beadlock rings, sold separately, if they want to run lower tyre pressures for more grip and control off road.

In other words, it is built to do the mall crawl during the week, and still be ready for a proper off-road outing on the weekend.

Visually, the Ranger Raptor Sport gets a new Raptor decal design and a newly added Sport Hoop at the back to further play up the truck’s off-road and lifestyle theme.

Ford says the truck is meant to deliver a distinct drive every time, in line with its Ford Performance DNA, but without straying too far from what existing Raptor owners already like about it.

Since the current-generation model arrived in 2022, the Ranger Raptor line-up here has been steadily expanded, aimed at customers who want more power, more suspension capability and more tech than a regular Ranger. The Sport variant slots into that narrative as a more focused, more visually distinct option, rather than a complete rethink.

Auto ConneXion has also been busy building a community around the truck. To mark three years of the Ranger Raptor in Malaysia, the company recently organised the Raptor Rev event, pulling in more than 500 owners and enthusiasts from around the country to celebrate the performance pickup and its lifestyle angle.

Each Ranger Raptor Sport comes with a 5-year warranty and a free 2-year service package for extra peace of mind, and customers will also receive a “Live The Ranger Life” cooler bag as a delivery gift.

Given the limited allocation, those keen on this particular version of the Raptor will probably want to check it out at a Ford showroom sooner rather than later.
