GMC Hummer EV SUV to debut on April 3, 2021

KUALA LUMPUR: Yes, you read it just right. GMC Hummer Electric SUV is on its way and the news is official as the automaker teased its arrival on YouTube. All this is happening before the arrival of the Hummer EV pickup truck that is scheduled to arrive in September as the 2022 model year.

As mentioned in the heading, the new electric GMC Hummer SUV will arrive on 4/3/21 (see the sequence), it is being called the Countdown. Also, interested customers would be able to reserve the EV on the launch day itself. Given the fact the Edition 1 Hummer EV truck sold out within an hour of its arrival, we suggest interested individuals act quickly.

The teaser video shared by GMC is 15 seconds long but doesn't reveal much about the EV. It just focuses on the arrival of a heavenly body on Earth - all in a very cinematic manner we must say. However, what many were able to see was the presence of a spare tyre attached to the tailgate.

In November last year, during a company presentation we got to see a glimpse of the electric SUV - it was partially revealed as the backdrop. From there we know that the Hummer SUV will adopt the truck's fascia and interior bits. A third-row seat can be expected, though nothing is confirmed.

What else do we know about the upcoming GMC Hummer EV SUV?

The Hummer EV SUV is expected to offer a range of 563 km, the same as the pickup model. Furthermore, its tri-motor setup is good to offer a maximum power of 1000 hp and help the EV complete the 0 to 97 kmph sprint in around 3 seconds.

What about the GMC Hummer SUV EV price?

Well, GMC is still numb about the fully electric Hummer SUV price, however, given the Hummer EV Edition 1 high retail price ($112,595), we expect it to be highly-priced as well.
