Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT makes debut in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur: Jeep Malaysia, after all the speculations and all the wait, has finally made available its flagship Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT in Malaysia. This huge SUV, which is embedded with a gigantic 6.4-litre V8 HEMI engine has been priced in the country at RM 698,889 only. This make this variant a well RM 230k more than V6-powered Grand Cherokee Overland, however the drive still is priced significantly lower than rivals like Range Rover Sport 5.0 V8 Supercharged. You can clearly differentiate SRT from the entry level variant because of the new all-sport aggression filled bumpers, blackened grille sourrounds, huge 20-inch Black Chrome split 5-spoke wheels and bonnet vents.

The HEMI engine hidden under the hood breaks through a maximum power output of 461 hp alongside a maximum torque of 624 Nm, this takes the SUV 100 kmph from a halt in just about 5 seconds which is undoubtedly amazing for such a large mean machine. The gearshift mechanism involved is an 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifts for maximum acceleration count from a stand still. The sound of this HEMI engine in itself is music to ears, but still if by any chance you gets bored by this there is the 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system to take care of all your entertainment requirements. Since the 6.4-litre HEMI engine is embedded in an SUV body, the road taxes alongside isnt really as painful as it could have been, the road taxes account for RM 7107.20 opposite to RM 17k if it had been a sedan.
