Kia Picanto X-Line spotted in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: The Kia Picanto X-Line was recently seen in Malaysia and is being expected to be launched soon in the country. The X-Line was first revealed at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. This car seems to be inspired by the company’s crossover and SUV models.

The appearance of the Picanto X-Line is intentionally designed more rugged as compared to the regular Picanto. The front has been introduced with a new bumper, lime green highlights on the grille and the repositioned fog lamps. Just below the signature “tiger nose” grille, large corner inlets are present along with a small intake. This unit is crafted in Titanium Silver with 2018 FIFA World Cup stripes on the bonnet and tailgate, as the carmaker is the official sponsor of the football tournament.

Another difference that has been observed between the two models is that the Picanto X-Line has a set of 16-inch alloy wheels (with 195/45 profile tyres) that are larger than the 14-inch units on the 1.2 EX Picanto variant which is currently on sale.
The interior of the car has been introduced with a new flat-bottom steering wheel and a single-zone automatic air-conditioning system. A tilt/slide powered sunroof has also been included in this model.
The engine of this model is expected to be the same as the current model of Kia Picanto. The outgoing 1.2 EX variant comes with a 1.2-litre Kappa II naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine making 84 PS at 6,000 rpm and 122 Nm at 4,000 rpm.

The Kia Picanto X-Line is likely to be launched soon in the Malaysian market. The car was recently showcased in the Malaysian shores. Many changes can also be expected in the Picanto X-Line as compared to the outgoing model.
