Mercedes-Benz: Official “Designo Manufaktur Program” for G-Class Models Launched

Kuala Lumpur: Mercedes-Benz has officially launched a “designo manufaktur” program for its G-Class models. Under this program, the German automaker will provide a range of personalisation options for the G-Class owners so that they don't have to turn to countless tuners who deal in Mercedes-Benz models, should they want to personalize their G-Class wagons.

According to Mercedes-Benz, the official “designo manufaktur” comes with a unique range of features, equipment, appointments, and traditional workmanship of the top-notch quality. The Manufaktur hand-finishing section of the German automobile manufacturer is located in Graz, Australia. Whether it's interior, exterior, topstitching or model badge, virtually every detail is hand-crafted, claims the automaker.

There are classy, unique colour and material compositions in every place. The variety of options range from spectacular non-metallic paint finish like fire opal and designo mauritius blue metallic to the designo yellow olive magno and the matte designo allanite grey magno with the roof of the G-Class model painted in obsidian black. It's all about a matter of choice these days, so the customers can also make their best pick from an additional line up of alloys painted in black.

To cover the spare wheel of your G-wagon, a premium stainless steel ring in black or body colour is on offer. If you are interested in the inlays for the exterior side rub strips for your AMG models, your options include the carbon fibre or black. The night package of the G-Wagen includes exterior mirror housings, obsidian black metallic roof and bumpers in addition to black exterior side rub strip inlays and rims. Also, there is an optional dark-tinted heat-insulating glass from the B-pillar.

For the interior, your range of options includes designo leather upholstery in the deep-sea blue, mocha brown, saddle brown colors besides the silk beige. The topstitching on the seats, armrests, headrests, door-handles, handbrake lever and the dashboard are tuned with the colours of the upholstery while highlighting the hand-finished concept and the new two-tone designo interiors. The seats, steering wheel, dashboard and center console are personalized in Mocha black or brown with topstitching in deep sea blue or dark tobacco.

Under the “designo manufaktur” program, the Dinamica interior package for the AMG G63 & G65 models comes with black nappa leather cover for the steering wheel with the grip region getting a Dinamica microfiber trim. The same trim can be provided on the dashboard, seats, armrests and handbrake, door centre panels and roof liners with white stitching. Other personalisation options for the interior include a leather wrapped grab handles and red seat belts.
