Mercedes-Maybach S580 4Matic Night Series launched in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Mercedes-Benz has launched a bold new version of the S-Class in Malaysia, called the Mercedes-Maybach S580 4Matic Night Series. The latest model features exclusive darkened design elements, bringing luxury and refined sportiness to a new level.

Mercedes-Maybach S580 4Matic Night Series: Key highlights

Price

The new Mercedes-Maybach S580 4Matic Night Series is offered as a CBU model from Germany, with the price starting from RM 2,404,888 (including 10% ST) for Peninsular Malaysia.

Exterior 

• The sedan is available in a range of paint finishes, including grey, black, and white, along with exclusive two-tone combinations such as onyx black/Mojave silver and MANUFAKTUR opalite white bright/obsidian black.
• Further setting it apart from the regular model are rose gold elements within the DIGITAL LIGHT headlights and dark metallic chrome accents. The twin tailpipe trims are finished in dark chrome and black.

• The dark shadow gloss finishes can be seen on the radiator shell, the front bumper cover, the Mercedes star, the chrome bonnet trim, the door handles, the Maybach emblem on the C-pillar, and the longitudinal trim strip. 
• High-gloss black touches are also added to the beltline, window surrounds, B-pillar, and mirror housings.
• The special S-Class Night Series edition runs on 20-inch Maybach 7-spoke light-alloy wheels finished in black and dark shadow gloss.
• Other exclusive exterior highlights are - illuminated door sills with “MAYBACH Night Series” lettering and a special vehicle key finished in high-gloss black.

Interior

Inside, the cabin radiates luxury and sophistication with the following exclusive bits -

• Black with Black Pearl nappa leather upholstery featuring a mother-of-pearl effect and golden-grey glossy piping
• "Garnet Glow" colour scheme for the active ambient lighting
• Dark brown open-pore walnut wood MANUFAKTUR trim
• Black crystal-look finish on the centre console with a subtle Maybach pattern
• Dark shadow gloss touches on the air vents housing 
• “Black labels and backlights” motto, a mystical start-up animation for the user interface

Engine and performance

At the core of this luxury masterpiece lies a 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 petrol engine generating a maximum power of 503 PS at 5,500 rpm and a peak torque of 700 Nm from 2,000 to 4,500 rpm. It comes mated to a 48-volt EQ Boost mild-hybrid system, a nine-speed 9G-Tronic automatic gearbox, and 4Matic all-wheel drive.

In terms of performance, the Night Series runs from 0-100 kmph in just 4.8 seconds and achieves a top speed of 250 kmph.
