Mr. Hironobu Yoshimura set to lead Honda Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: With her inquisitive mind and can-do attitude, Ms. Madoka Chujo has set an example of exceptional leadership in Honda Malaysia. She joined the automaker’s local wing back in April 2021 as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, but recently the position has been taken up by Mr. Hironobu Yoshimura. Yes, Honda Malaysia welcomes the new CEO and Managing Director.

The Japanese automaker holds the No. 1 position in the Non-National Passenger Vehicle Segment in Malaysia for the eighth consecutive year since 2014. The company’s three models - City, all-new City Hatchback, and all-new Civic have ranked No.1 in their respective segments for Quarter 1 of 2022. All thanks to the remarkable tenure of Ms. Chujo.

Well, now things are in the hands of Mr. Yoshimura who comes on board with equal potential. Here’s a brief on his past experiences -

• Holds an extensive experience of 34 years at Honda
• Expertise in the areas of Business Planning, Corporate Planning, Marketing, and After-Sales Services
• Handled key roles in various countries including Japan, Thailand, and Pakistan with President and Chief Executive Officer of Honda Atlas Cars (Pakistan) Limited as the last role

Mr. Yoshimura said, “I am excited to take up this new role at Honda Malaysia. This unique and diverse nation is truly an important market in the Asia and Oceania region for us at Honda. My predecessors have built the Honda brand to become the success that it is now in Malaysia; as the forerunner in introducing Honda’s advanced technology in the region, launching exciting new models, and leading the Non-National Passenger Vehicle segment for many years. Most importantly, Honda Malaysia has persevered through and overcame many challenges over the years. I look forward to leading the Company in a post-pandemic business environment and to contributing positively towards the growth of the company.” 

Upcoming Honda Cars in Malaysia

Under the leadership of Mr. Yoshimura, Honda Malaysia is expected to roll out the revamped Honda HR-V. The updated version of the BR-V may also be on the cards.
