Peugeot reveals the updated price list for the inclusion of SST

KUALA LUMPUR: The Sales and Service Tax (SST) Act has been implemented in Malaysia from 1st September, due to which, most of the manufacturers have released, or are in the process of releasing an updated price list. Peugeot has joined the bandwagon and released an updated price list of the models that are currently on sale in the country.

The tax-holiday or the zero percent GST period started on the 1st June and ended 31st August. During that period, the vehicles were being sold at lesser prices. However, if we compare the SST prices with the previously effective 6% GST prices, it seems a lot more beneficial.

In the updated list, a total of five cars are featured. The 208 PureTech is now priced at RM86,880.00 which means a price drop of around RM357, while the 2008 PureTech model comes with a price tag of RM105,888.00, marking a price drop of RM805.

The 3008 Active had a price tag of RM142,888.00 at the time of the GST, which now drops around RM1,000.00 and now costs RM141,888.00. Speaking of the 3008 Allure, it has witnessed a drop of 0.64% with the new price tag of RM154,888.00. The last model on the list is 5008 Allure, which is now priced at RM172,888.00, 0.58% lesser than the previous.

The updated price list misses two cars from the GST zero-rated price list - the 508 and the 208 GTi. These two cars are out of stock as during the tax-holiday period the all units were cleared. Also, you have to wait a little longer for the new second-gen 508 as the vehicle will arrive sometime around the second quarter of the next year.
