Pope Francis’ Lamborghini Huracan auctioned for $850,000
KUALA LUMPUR: The Lamborghini Huracan is one of the best hypercars to be available for the general public, a fact that perfectly justifies the high price tag. Imagine how good it would be if Lamborghini is putting up a one-off special edition for a global high-commissioned person.

Well, if you don’t remember, let us remind you that Lamborghini had gifted a Huracan to Pope Francis of the Vatican City. But, as expected, the pope did not use the car himself. He instead auctioned it and indicated the proceeds to charity.

The Lamborghini Huracan that was given to Pope Francis a one-of-a-kind trim dipped in white and golden in colour, which are the colours of the Vatican. It was an RWD Huracan version and was presented to the Pontiff in a public presentation.

Just as no one could even imagine Pope Francis to zoom pass the roads on a Lambo Huracan, he did what was inevitable, that is, put it out for auction. The car did manage to get € 715,000, which equals to $ 857,000.
Needless to say that the actual price of this car is a lot lesser than what it was sold at through the auction. But if you really think about the price and the reason why it could gross the high sum, you will know that a special, one-off edition Lambo, which was once owned (but not used), blessed and signed by the Pope of Vatican is really worth it. These opportunities barely come once in a lifetime. Plus, the proceeds being directed to four charity, the philanthropist within the buyer would also be pleased.
The Lamborghini Huracan, for the Malaysian market, is powered by a 5.2-litre, V10 engine which can put out a maximum power of 610 hp along with a good torque of 560 Nm. It can sprint from 0-100 in just 3.2 seconds and can hit a top speed of 325 kmph.
