Recent Updates of Aventador

Lamborghini’s flagship V12 supercars are few and far between but the Aventador is undoubtedly the most advanced of them all. The base S variant of the Aventador is equipped with the same 6.5L naturally aspirated V12 engine that now produces 730 hp and 690 Nm of torque. The meaner SVJ variant pushes it further to 759 hp and 720 Nm of torque. To rein in this insane amount of power there is four wheel steering, four wheel drive, adaptive suspension, selectable drive modes, carbon ceramic brakes and a highly aerodynamic body that maximizes downforce for high cornering speeds. The SVJ has an even lighter weight thanks to extensive use of lightweight materials like carbon fiber and Lamborghini’s active aero package that gives it even more downforce in the corners. With limited numbers on sale, the element of exclusivity gets added to the already ludicrous nature of the Aventador. The prices for these vehicles do well to reflect this. These range from RM 2.27 million for the Aventador S which is not a lot for what is basically a guided missile.

The flagship sub-brand from Lamborghini all over the world, the Aventador, has been in existence for almost a decade now, still, it ranks as one of the most ferocious and accomplished supercars of the world. The Lamborghini Aventador S, as what the facelift received in 2017 was labeled, is the entry-level variant of the versatile Aventador range.

Interior & Features

On the inside too, the space-age feel of the overall interior layout continues to astonish even after all these years, with the minimal updates and feature additions in all these years making it not at all dated or old school in feel.

The almost vertical flat bottom multi-functional steering wheel gives the driving feel of driving a proper supercar, while the revamped new full TFT instrument console with a variety of display modes making the driver’s field of view too much focused.

The simple and wide dashboard comes with a good mix of leather and carbon fibre elements, making it luxurious as well as sporty in feel at the same time. The heightened central tunnel, which divides the compartment into two, houses the large tucked in screen for the infotainment system, beyond which are positioned a range of buttons and toggles for transmission and drive modes.

The Lamborghini Aventador, even after having the exact design since 2011, still looks one of the most futuristic designs among the supercars. Never it feels dated, for the extremely low slung stance and sharp design still turns heads wherever it goes.

The front of the Lamborghini Aventador S looks extremely aerodynamic with the sloping bonnet having the extremely angular all-LED projector headlamps characterised by Y-shaped daytime running LEDs. The air dams present in the front bumper have aggressive cuts to enhance the aerodynamics even more.

The Lamborghini Aventador S continues its streak of aerodynamic appeal on the sideways as well, with the side profile of the supercar having a curvy window line. The door-mounted rearview mirrors are large and upfront, and the sharp character line raising upwards till the boot, increases its sharpness even more. Also, the side profile now features side air vents to reduce turbulence and enhance high-speed stability.

The rear profile of the Lamborghini Aventador S looks quite wide, the effect of which is only enhanced with angular LED tail lamps and aggressive rear bumper.

Ride & Handling

One of the lowest slung supercars in the world, the Lamborghini Aventador S has a monocoque frame made of carbon fibre, which is extremely lightweight, aiding in its great power to weight ratio.

The Aventador S has pushrod magneto-rhelogic active front and rear suspension with horizontal dampers and springs with double-wishbone fully independent suspension. The electronically operated spoiler has three positions which is automatically adjustable to aid in enhancing the downforce further. The Lamborghini Dynamic Steering with a variable steering ratio makes handling this mental supercar much controllable in the real world.

Engine & Fuel Consumption

Powering the Lamborghini Aventador S is a brutal 6.5-litre V12 petrol engine, which currently is the biggest and most powerful engine made by Lamborghini. Paired to a 7-speed automatic gearbox, the engine is good enough for producing a maximum power output of 740 PS and a peak torque output of 690 Nm.

Braking & Safety

The Lamborghini Aventador S is not as sophisticated as modern-day supercars, but still, it covers all the grounds like front and knee airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, electronic stability control, traction control, and front and rear parking sensors.

Despite having no major alterations to the original design, the Lamborghini Aventador S still looks extremely futuristic and sharp, giving it a significant stance of its own in the world of supercars. The performance from one of the last V12s around in the world of automobiles still feels bewildering and exhilarating even after all these years, and is considered aa one of the best benchmarks in outright performance. While controlling this hyper level of performance is not controllable for everyone, it is one must to have priced possession if you have got all the money.

Chris Mei 08, 2019 for Lamborghini Aventador

I love buying Italian supercars and after long last, I finally got the Lamborghini Aventador. This will probably be one of the last few V12s and I had to get one just for that reason. There is nothing quite like the sweet sound of a V12, it mesmerizes me every time I fire it up. Obviously, with a V12, the Read More
