While no official details are yet available on the upcoming EV, the silhouette of the car presented on the brand name contest poster hints that it might be based on the Geely Galaxy E5.

Globally revealed at the Beijing Motor Show 2024, the Geely Galaxy E5 underpins the brand’s new Global Intelligent New Energy Architecture (GEA) platform supporting pure EVs, plug-in hybrid, and methanol technologies. The said platform is touted to feature the world’s first “AI digital chassis,” which integrates the chassis, powertrain, and driver assistance technologies.

In terms of dimensions, the Galaxy E5 measures 4,615 mm in length, 1,901 mm in width, and 1,670 mm in height, and spans a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. As per the reports, the EV is likely to come powered by a single motor capable of generating a maximum power of 218 PS. The motor will be fed by a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery.

Well, these are just speculations, and we will have to wait for the official announcement to know whether the new Proton EV is actually based on the Geely Galaxy E5 or not.
