Revealed: Full Specs of Fiat Tipo C-Segment Sedan

KUALA LUMPUR: Fiat has officially released the full specifications of its new C-segment sedan – Fiat Tipo. According to the information provided on the website of the Italian automaker, Fiat Tipo is 4,532 mm long, 1,792 mm wide and 1,497 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,636 mm. The new C-segment sedan features a milquetoast styling and comes with a drag coefficient of just 0.29 Cd, owing to its optimized body shape, windscreen curvature, roof profile, top-notch wheel coverage and side profile in addition to uniquely designed side mirrors and taillight shape.

Inside, the Italian automaker has paid a lot of attention to the practicality. Tipo has been designed in such a way so that it can comfortably accommodate adults measuring 1.88 metres on the front seat and 1.8 metres on the rear seat. The legroom is pretty good. The C-segment sedan also comes with a good a boot space of 520 liters, which is expandable by the 60:40 split-folding rear seats – besides up to 12 liters of storage compartments in the cabin itself.

The standard model of Fiat Tipo comes with a Uconnects Radio Infotainment System with Bluetooth, whereas the higher-end model gets Uconnect 5″ and Uconnect 5″ Navigation system – both featuring a 5-inch touchscreen, an SMS reader, DAB radio, USB and AUX-in connectivity.

The Uconnect 5″ Navigation system also features a TomTom 3D navigation system. The 160-Watt four-speaker sound system is standard, however, the models with 5-inch touchscreen come with the 220-Watt six-speaker system.

Fiat Tipo C-segment sedan is powered by a 95 hp/127Nm 1.4-litre Fire four-cylinder petrol engine paired with a six-speed manual gearbox and 110 hp/152 Nm 1.6 litre E.torQ petrol mated to a six-speed auto. The diesel powertrain options of the C-segment sedan includes a 95 hp/200 Nm 1.3-litre and 120hp/320Nm 1.6-litre Multijet II turbodiesels, mated to a six-speed manual.

The body of Fiat Tipo has been manufactured from 80% high-strength steel in order to provide better handling and safety while weighing less. In terms of safety, Fiat Tipo is well-equipped with up to six airbags, Anti-Lock Braking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Panic Brake Assist, Hill Start Assist, Electronic Stability Control and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.
