Subaru Malaysia introduces Connex telematics system for XV and Forester

KUALA LUMPUR: Several automakers are working hard to make their cars more safe and hi-tech and Subaru is one of them. The Japanese automaker recently introduced the Subaru Connex telematics system for the XV and Forester models in Malaysia, which is designed for the greater safety and security of passengers on board.

What does the Subaru Connex telematics system do?

Subaru Connex telematics system has an onboard system connected with a mobile app, which allows access to different available features. These include an “Automatic accident alert and response” In case of an accident, the telematics system informs the dedicated call centre about the car’s location, crash speed, and severity of the impact; it can register impact force of as low as 2G. Then the call centre automatically connects to the onboard voice box to speak to the driver/occupants to check if they need any kind of assistance.

Another function of the Subaru Connex telematics system is “Enhanced Roadside Assistance.” With this, a bCall (breakdown call) can be made in case of breakdown, tyre puncture, or flash flood. The company’s roadside assist will immediately send the help to the location. The Connex system also provides “Enhanced Emergency Assistance” under which an SOS service is given to the occupants for medical assistance.

Subaru offers an exclusive VIP Assist package for the Connex telematics system buyers. It includes unlimited towing assistance to a preferred authorized Subaru workshop, on-site repair service worth RM 300 per incident (labor charges), and transport reimbursement of up to RM 2,000 in case of an accident repair.
