KUALA LUMPUR: Globally revealed in November 2023, the all-new sixth-gen Forester is ready to make its way to Malaysia. The Japanese automaker recently took to its social media handles to tease the upgraded SUV, hinting at its imminent launch.

2025 Subaru Forester: What to expect
- New platform: The sixth-gen Forester underpins an enhanced Subaru Global Platform, which promises up to 10% increased torsional rigidity, better ride comfort and less noise.
Photo from Subaru Asia- Bigger in size: The upgraded SUV has also grown slightly as compared to the outgoing model. It now measures 4,655 mm in length (up by 31 mm), 1,830 mm in width (up by 15 mm), and 1,730 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,670 mm. The ground clearance is estimated at 220 mm.
- Cosmetic enhancements: The new Forester has a bolder and boxier appearance with cleaner bumper designs and rugged fenders. It features new LED headlights and tail lights and a fresh set of alloy wheels.
Photo from Subaru Asia- Upmarket cabin: Inside, we can expect a new layout with a redesigned dashboard housing a portrait-oriented 11.6-inch Starlink infotainment unit. Feature kit may include - Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless smartphone charging tray, 10-way power-adjustable driver seats, a dual-zone climate control system, a power-sliding glass sunroof, and ventilated front seats.
- New engine: The new Forester is expected to come with a 2.5-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder boxer petrol engine, which kicks out a maximum power of 185 PS and a peak torque of 247 Nm. The engine is paired to Subaru’s Lineartronic CVT gearbox, Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system, and dual-function X-Mode.
