KUALA LUMPUR: Suzuki is geared up to expand its lineup in Malaysia with the launch of a new compact SUV, the Fronx. Naza Eastern Motors began accepting bookings in September and recently dropped a new teaser stating that the SUV is just 4 days away, which places the launch on November 18.

The Suzuki Fronx will be offered in a hybrid drivetrain in Malaysia, including a 1.5-litre four-cylinder K15C Dual Jet engine that produces a maximum power of 101 PS and a peak torque of 135 Nm. Additionally, the setup includes an integrated starter generator, a 12-volt lithium-ion battery, and either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Compact dimensions
Being a compact SUV, the Fronx measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,765 mm in width and 1,550 mm in height, and spans a wheelbase of 2,520 mm. These dimensions put it in direct competition with the Perodua Ativa, Honda WR-V, and Chery Tiggo Cross in the Malaysian market.

The Fronx underpins the brand’s ‘Crafted Futurism’ design philosophy and boasts a unique aerodynamic silhouette with a strong SUV character paired with coupe-inspired styling. It has a stylish and dynamic road presence that targets new-age buyers.
