Unveiled: Abarth 595 Yamaha Factory Racing Edition

Kuala Lumpur: The Official Sponsor and Car Supplier to the FIM MotoGP Championship, Abarth has recently unveiled a new edition of 595 sports hatches - Abarth 595 Yahama Factory Racing Edition. Abarth enjoys a solid reputation for building performance exhausts and other useful parts for Fiat cars for more than 50 years and now they have shown their class in this pukka Fiat 500.

Developed in association with Yamaha Factory Team and the world champion riders Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenz who are renowned for recording a sensational first and second place finish in this year's championship, the tiny sports fiat is revamped with a Record Monza exhaust system, Koni shock absorbers with FSD (frequency selective dampers) valves and Eibach lowering springs.

The powertrain of Abarth 595 Yahama Factory Racing Edition features Abarth's 1.4-litre T-Jet engine that produces 160 hp of power and 230 Nm of torque. The sports hatch also claims a very impressive century sprint time of just 7.4 seconds with the top speed of 210kmph transmitted through a five-speed stick shifter. But what makes it special than other Fiat 500 is its 17-inch matte black alloy wheels, painted brake callipers and optional matching Abarth side stripes and mirror covers.

The darkened window, a flat-bottom leather steering wheel, aluminum pedals and a unique ‘Yamaha Factory Racing’ badge – all as standard – do justice to the model's reputation of a perfect sports car, which comes with optional Xenon headlamps, leather interior and dual zone air conditioning for an additional price, should you find them exciting. The 595 Yamaha Factory Racing Edition is priced at RM115K.
