Volkswagen Caddy Alltrack Revealed Ahead of its Frankfurt Debut
Kuala Lumpur: Volkswagen has given its smallest van an off-road makeover in the shape of Caddy Alltrack which is based on the previous generation Cross Caddy. This car is also set to make a debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. It shares the same platform with other Alltrack-badged members of the Volkswagen lineup like the Passat and the Golf SportWagen. Like its predecessor, it would be made available both in the passenger car and panel van formats.
On to the exterior, it has gained black trim panels on the wheel arches, underbody cladding, side sills and bumpers. Its radiator grille receives three chrome fins along with Alltrack logo. It also packs silver roof rails along with silver housing for side mirrors, smoked rear lamps and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Moving towards the interior, lashings of chrome can be seen across the dash which adds to the premium feel. Further, it is packed with special '7Summits' seat covers, folding tables built into the front seatbacks along with a leather-upholstered steering wheel, handbrake and gear lever. Faux carbon trim and unique floor mats are also standard.
Under the hood, a range of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines are available. Four variants have been provided for the 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine which can churn out power in the range of 75 hp to 150 hp while the petrol variants comes in 1.0-litre, 1.2-litre and 1.4-litre TSI engine which churns put power ranging from 84 hp to 125 hp. A natural gas unit has also been provided as 1.4-litre TGI engine which is capable of delivering a maximum power 110 hp. Depending on the engine, five-speed and six-speed manual transmissions, as well as six-speed and seven-speed dual-clutch gearboxes are provided. Caddy Alltrack is also available with VW's 4MOTION all-wheel-drive as an option.

Sales of the new Caddy Alltrack would begin in late 2015 across Europe. Its price range could be expected to lie somewhere between RM80,578 to RM119,076.
