Zeekr 9X EV revealed - 0-100 kmph in 3 secs, 20-80% charge in 9 mins

KUALA LUMPUR: Geely-owned Zeekr has launched an all-new luxury flagship SUV in the Chinese market, called the 9X. This latest Zeekr model brings a lot of tech and cutting-edge features on board, setting new benchmarks in the electric SUV category. 

Zeekr 9X: All you need to know

Dimensions 

Built on the SEA-S platform, the Zeekr 9X is a full-size SUV that measures 5,239 mm in length, 2,029 mm in width, and 1,819 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,169 mm. Compared to the Mercedes-Benz GLS, it is 32 mm longer and 75 mm wider.

Drivetrain, range, and charging 

The EV is powered by the SEA Super Hybrid system, combining a powerful 275-hp 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine and two or three electric motors, depending on the trim. 

The dual-motor setup churns out a combined output of 885 hp, while the tri-motor setup delivers a whopping 1,381 hp, which is rarely seen in an SUV. Packed with such a powerful setup, the Zeekr 9X runs from zero to 100 kmph in 3.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 240 kmph.

Two available battery packs are - 55 kWh and 70 kWh battery; the former offers an all-electric range of 300 km while the latter cruises up to 380 km in the pure EV mode. The combined range varies between 1,165 km and 1,250 km, depending on the variant picked. 

The Zeekr 9X features the revolutionary 900V high-voltage architecture, supporting the ultra-fast 6C charging technology. It allows the battery to juice up from 20 to 80% in just 8 minutes and 21 seconds, which is quite impressive.

Ride & handling 

The Zeekr 9X underpins the Haohan AI Digital Chassis, including advanced air suspension, active roll control, and smart drive modes. This system gives the hi-tech SUV smooth comfort on highways and strong stability on all types of terrains. 

Interior

Inside, the Zeekr 9X houses six seats with a 2+2+2 configuration and several advanced features, including

• Lumbar support with 22-point massage for both rows
• 180-degree rotatable second-row seats

Safety

Equipped with Haohan Safety Armour, the Zeekr 9X incorporates the G-Pilot H7 driver assistance system backed by LiDAR sensors and Nvidia chips, making it “L3-ready.” It also offers new protections such as crosswind control, side-impact lift, and automatic obstacle avoidance. Notably, the new Zeekr EV has aced the world’s first four-way crash test at 105 kmph.

The Zeekr 9X is now on sale in China, with prices ranging from CNY 465,900 (RM 275,358) to CNY 599,900 (RM 354,555). 

Zeekr EVs in Malaysia

Zeekr entered the Malaysian market late last year with the launch of two electric cars - 009 MPV (available in 6- and 7-seater configurations) and X compact SUV. Later in August, the Chinese brand introduced the 7X electric SUV as its third model.
