Geely hired ex-Volkswagen Group designer Stefan Sielaff to design Zeekr EVs. But the 2025 Zeekr X was designed before Sielaff joined the company. The Zeekr X still has some strong Volkswagen design cues. The exterior is rather funky. The Flagship AWD model gets larger 19-inch alloy wheels, compared to the Premium model’s 18-inch wheels. The car gets, what Zeekr says, an intelligent B-pillar that displays the charging status. Apart from that the 2025 Zeekr X’s exterior isn’t much exciting, though the company claims that it has used the ‘golden ratio’ drawn from the art and architecture world to design X. The EV is mounted on Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform. The car manages to stand out with its frameless windows, concealed window seals and door handles that look like cut-outs. The front grille is absent and the bumper directly meets the lower part of the bonnet. The headlights are sleek. The car gets all-around LED lighting. 

At the back, the 2025 Zeekr X gets a lightweight glass that spans the entire width of the car. The Zeekr logo sits right in the middle. But most of these are only for show.

The interior of the 2025 Zeekr X is impressive. The car is upholstered in vegan-friendly polyurethane leather. The material is almost indistinguishable from original leather. The panoramic sunroof deflects 82 percent infrared rays. There’s almost a total absence of physical buttons on the dashboard. An 8.8-inch instrument panel and a floating 14.6-inch high-res touchscreen infotainment unit connected to a 13-speaker Yamaha audio system controls most of the functions. Operation of the infotainment unit gives a Tesla-like feel. While the display is bright, the icons aren’t much intuitive. It takes time to get used to the system. There’s a fridge in the central console. It’s powerful enough to keep ice-cream frozen. The steering wheel gets a somewhat rectangular shape with rounded corners.

Is the Zeekr X spacious?

With 4,432 mm length, 1,836 mm width, and 1,566 mm height, the 2025 Zeekr X is a fairly spacious crossover. The driver sits high and that lends a proper crossover feel. The driver gets a wide view of the road. The two front seats, like most crossovers, enjoy the maximum headroom and legroom. Both are heated and ventilated, get six-way power-adjustable function and four-way lumbar support. The driver’s seat gets memory function. The rear seat is nice and comfortable though the 2025 Zeekr X isn’t technically a five-passenger car. Space on the rear seat would feel cramped with three adults. Taller passengers will find a lack of space. The backrest on the rear seats is a bit high which means the knees of taller occupants may reach chest-high. 

The 2025 Zeekr X comes with 362 litres of boot space that’s large enough for a crossover. That aside, there’s an oddly shaped, big, and fat compartment under the floor for cables. The opening is small and loading and unloading cargo is bit of a challenge. The rear seat can be folded 60:40 to create more cargo space.

What are the engine and transmission options for Zeekr X?

The 2025 Zeekr X Premium with rear-wheel-drive is equipped with a single motor that produces 268PS/343Nm. The motor is powered by a 66 kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) battery pack. The Flagship AWD version is hauled by two motors that produce 428 PS/ 543 Nm, and powered by the same battery. With absence of a traditional transmission system, power delivery is almost instant. There’s no shortage of power and the 2025 Zeekr X drives well on city roads. The steering wheel is light and nicely balanced. There’s a bit of a body roll during a sharp cornering. 

The suspension system of the 2025 Zeekr X is extremely soft and body control is mostly retained. The in-cabin sound insulation is great. With no engine noise, it’s even quite.
