Honda e:N1 Review 2025

The Honda e:N1 is the Japanese manufacturer’s first all-electric car in the Malaysian market. It’s a dynamic B-segment sports utility vehicle (SUV) that balances the familiar silhouette of the HR-V with dedicated underpinnings of an electric vehicle (EV). The car had its official Malaysia launch in May, 2025.

Honda e:N1 Interior & Features

The 2025 Honda e:N1 gets synthetic leather sports-design seats with white trim and blue stitching.

The driver’s seat is eight-way power adjustable. The fit and finish of the cabin is durable and functional, instead of being premium luxury. Hard-wearing plastics and synthetics dominate. The dashboard is dominated by a portrait-oriented 15.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. It’s one of the largest screens in its segment. The display gets three distinct layers. There’s a 10.25-inch instrument cluster that’s clear and easy to read. The climate control and other commonly used controls are placed in a fixed, easy-to-reach area at the bottom of the screen. There are physical knobs for temperature and fan settings. Gear selection is through buttons on the central console instead of a traditional shift knob that gets illuminated surrounds for nighttime visibility. The infotainment unit is mated to a six-speaker audio system. The climate control system is a dual-zone automatic unit with dust/pollen filters and rear ventilation. The cabin gets multiple USB ports.

Honda e:N1 Exterior

The 2025 Honda e:N1 measures 4,380 mm, 1,790 mm in width, 1,592 mm in height. The car has a wheelbase of 2,610 mm. It’s mounted on Honda’s dedicated e:N Architecture F platform that features a rigid body structure, low centre of gravity, and optimized underfloor aerodynamics for stability and driving enjoyment. A closed-off, clean front-end replaces the traditional grille. The charging port door is integrated into it. The car gets all-around LED lighting. The charging status indicator lets the user monitor charging visually. The white ‘H’ badge signals its EV status. It's woven onto multiple exterior elements like the wheel caps and the front badge. The angular, sharp headlights get auto on/off functionality, daytime running lights (DRLs), and sequential turn signals. A seamless light bar stretches across the back-end. It’s complemented by a wraparound styling. The 2025 Honda e:N1 gets black body cladding on the fenders, bumpers, and side sills, along with contrasting black trim on the side mirrors and window surrounds. The tailgate is practical and upright, with a clean diffuser and smooth bumper integration.

Honda e:N1 Ride & Handling

The 2025 Honda e:N1 gets supportive front seats with ample cushioning for long drives. The rear seats offer decent legroom. Headroom may feel limited for taller passengers. The car gets MacPherson strut front and torsion beam rear suspension that strikes a balance between stability and comfort. The ride comfort is good, courtesy the well-tuned suspension system that absorbs most bumps and potholes with ease. Handling is agile for an electric SUV. The steering is precise and well-balanced. Body roll is minimal and that makes city driving and highway cruising enjoyable. The 2025 Honda e:N1 prioritizes comfort over sportiness and maintains a smooth, composed feel even on uneven surfaces.

Honda e:N1 Engine & Fuel Consumption

The 2025 Honda e:N1 is hauled by a front-mounted synchronous electric motor, integrated into a three-in-one unit (motor, power-drive, gearbox) that produces 204 PS/310 Nm. The motor is powered by a 68.8 kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt battery. The powertrain returns a mileage of 412 km on a single recharge. The car provides higher real-world range in city traffic because of frequent regenerative braking. Torque is instant and smooth, ideal for stop-and-go traffic. The car comes with Econ, Normal, and Sport modes that allows drivers to toggle between efficiency and punch.

Honda e:N1 Braking & Safety

The 2025 Honda e:N1 is equipped with an advanced safety that comprise multi-angle cameras, radar systems, and ultrasonic sensors. The advanced driver-assist equipment includes adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking, lane-keep assist, and traffic sign recognition. Blind-spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert enhance driver awareness. Real-time data fusion ensures hazard detection for safer driving.

Honda e:N1 Verdict

The 2025 Honda e:N1 has a starting price of RM 149,900. The electric SUV combines futuristic styling, practical run-range, and smooth performance to make it appealing to urban EV buyers who want technology, comfort, and eco-friendly mobility in a compact but stylish package.
