A capable and well-made compact crossover

When I took the test drive of the Jaecoo J7, I went beyond the test route. I drove it through a bit of open highway, narrow lanes, and over some pothole-ridden stretches. What I liked the most was how well-tuned the suspension felt—it was neither too stiff nor too soft. For this class, the steering seemed to be very precise. But it was when I merged the Jaecoo J7 onto a highway and pushed the throttle that this vehicle showed its capability. It's no doubt zippy. But what surprised me was how composed and silent the cabin stayed at 100 km/h.
