The engine falls short, lacks punch

A purpose-built vehicle’s heart should lie in its powertrain. However, compared to its rivals, the diesel engine of the Peugeot Landtrek falls short. Its on-road performance is average, and it lacks the larger-engined competitors' pulling power. The setup of the engine is marked by a noticeable turbo-lag and an agricultural diesel roar that hampers acceleration. Occasionally, the 6-speed automatic transmission seems to struggle a bit, especially in the case of harder acceleration. While cruising is comfy, I have found overtaking to be moderately effective.
