Strong acceleration, but range falls short

The Volvo EC40 is equipped with a 78kWh battery that offers an official range of 340-plus miles. It will definitely appeal to those who want to cover long distances. However, when we tested it on the motorway at conventional speeds, we were only able to get a real-world range of around 240 miles. This is mainly because the front end of this vehicle doesn't look that aerodynamic. However, it takes over seven seconds to get from 0-62mph, which is very fast thanks to the power delivery’s immediacy.
