They don't bother about the fancy frills offered in today's cars because they want pure power and the true sense of a moving machine. These are the fans of the classic Vintage Supercars, protruding a cool and spectacular image.

Malaysia's love affair with the automobile has existed for over a hundred years, since the very first Mercedes Simplex was brought into the country. Subsequently with each era of groundbreaking innovations around the world and expanding roadways in the country gave rise to an influx of cars from various countries. Looking at the cars in today's time, one thing can be easily observed, the lack of creativity and excitement which was heavily found in these timeless classic beauties. Hence, to revive the memories of these vintage supercars we compiled a list of top 5 cars featuring the iconic brands such as Mercedes, Jaguar, Aston Martin, and Ferrari.

1. 1961 Jaguar E-Type

The prancing Jaguar on the front grille has always been a symbol of power and performance. Either you pronounce it Jagwar or Jag-u-ar, everyone agrees with the fact that it oozes style on every front. The Jaguar E-Type is considered as one of the classic production of the British automaker. E-Type was released in 1961 to some pretty heavy praise, even the legend of auto industry Enzo Ferrari referred to it as, “The most beautiful car ever made,” well, that surmise it to be perfect for our list.

2. 1966 Shelby 427 Cobra

Anything attached to a prancing cobra creates amusement in the audience, and when it's a classic Shelby 427 Cobra with rumbling engines then, who would not turn head towards it? This American car became an instant hit with its release in 1966. Owing to its insane power-to-weight ratio, the Shelby 427 Cobra has a bit more thrust than your Corolla. Although it comes at a hefty price tag of $5.5 million, which has to be shelled out to own this 66 Shelby 427 Cobra Super Snake.

3. 1957 Mercedes 300SL Gullwing

The falcon wing doors is one of the prime reason, this car rules the vintage supercar market. And to your surprise, its doors are not the only reason this car is one of the coolest, also the 300SL was the fastest production car of that time. Wonder, driving it on the Kuala Lumpur streets wouldn’t be a bore.

4. 1969 Ferrari Dino 246 GT

Shining red Ferrari is such a car, even one from the top of Petronas Towers could identify it easily. The Ferrari has its own camouflage which is far too unique with its sling aerodynamics and taut angles throughout the body. Besides that, a Ferrari always has something harsh and crazy under the hood, making a rumbling noise wherever it goes. The soft lines on the Ferrari Dino 246 GT tell us a vintage story about this supercar, which revolutionized the market with it unique upwards opening doors. The GT in its name represents Gran Turismo, which means this car is meant to be driven fast and playfully. If you have one, we’d oblige to take a ride.

5. 1964 Aston Martin DB5

Coming straight out of James Bond's Goldfinger is truly a Gold finger cool enough car to make a special place in this list. The DB5 gained heavy popularity when the Bond drove it, but obviously anyone driving it would look like gentlemen rolling on this elegant beast. So if you can own this sweet cannister for your garage it would look great beside you beer can.

Despite being a biotech professional, Sanchit Agarwal's daydreams of driving a Ferrari and chasing cars in a Grand Prix made him jump into automotive journalism. His childhood craving for the cars started with Hot wheels toys which led him to create pseudo cars on his own. When people loved playing outdoor sports, Sanchit was stuck to his racing video games hidden in a closet. The torque of his creative writing coupled with his passion for moving machines pushed him into Carbay's garage. Sanchit also wonders's, why is he writing this as a third person.
