1972 Lamborghini Miura SV revealed at Rétromobile Show in Paris
KUALA LUMPUR: Lamborghini’s in-house restoration and heritage division, Polo Storico has revealed the 1972 Lamborghini Miura SV. It was handed over to the FIA president Jean Todt by Stefano Domenicali, Chief Executive Officer and the Chairman of the Automobili Lamborghini.
As stated earlier, Polo Storico is the manufacturer’s in-house department that manages historic heritage. This it does by certifying and restoring all the Lamborghini cars that were produced until 2001 and was founded in 2016. This time, it had brought the Miura SV, another Lamborghini beauty, from the past. It was restored amidst conjunction with the famous show of classic cars, the Rétromobile held in Paris.
It took 13 months to the complete restoration of the car that even included deconstructing the model to the ground. This made possible the verification of each segment of the car like making the body, frame, interiors, etc. The in-house restoration and heritage division also referred to the assembly books stored in the archives of the Lamborghini.
The exterior is all about the Rosso Corsa red with cladding all around. The design has a lower gold band, and inside is premium leather upholstery in black. Polo Storico gave the same appearance to the Miura SV as the one delivered to the first owner of the car 47 years ago, Mr. Mecin in South Africa.
It was the first car from Lamborghini’s lineup to get the SV badge, that denotes ‘Super Fast’ or ‘Super Veloce. Polo Storico also unveiled the 1966 Lamborghini 400 GT at the ongoing Rétromobile alongside the 1972 Lamborghini Miura SV.
The in-house restoration and heritage division of Lamborghini has also reconstructed the spare parts for classic Lamborghinis. The department produced more than 200 new code numbers, thus enabling the owners to enjoy their car in full confidence.
