2016 Delhi Auto Expo: Asia's Largest Motor Show About to Begin

Kuala Lumpur/New Delhi: 2016 has started up and the auto enthusiasts all over the world are gearing up for the much-anticipated Mecca of automobiles, Asia's largest and World's second largest Motor Show, 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. The stage is all set with glam and glitter with ball and bells for this much-anticipated biennial event with automakers prepping against each other to showcase their best vehicles and concept designs.

Thus at this hour of time, we have decided to craft a brief introduction to this 2016 Delhi Auto Expo to enhance the knowledge bank of auto enthusiasts in Malaysia.

The 2016 Delhi Auto Expo will mark its 13th presence in the South Asian colorful country India. It will be an automobile extravaganza which will be hosting a plethora of launches and upcoming vehicles from all across the globe. The event is set to be organised at two different locations namely Pragati Maidan, New Delhi and India Expo Mart, Greater Noida. The Pragati Maidan has been a very familiar host to the event as it has also been the maiden host for the event in 1986. The Auto Expo will be held at this venue from 4th to 7th February and after that, the second leg of this magnificent Motor Show will take place at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida from 5th to 9th February.

The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) announced recently that this year around 58 automobile manufacturers from all around the world will be participating and will showcase their upcoming as well as concept vehicles. Some of those who will be absent this year are major bike manufacturers like Bajaj, Ducati and Royal Enfield, but considering the glam and grandiose of Delhi Auto Expo, you will not miss them.

Here are some of the major facts around the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo

• The Delhi Auto Expo was conceptualized and ideated in the year 1985 and came into inception with its first exhibition in 1986, which was first of it's kind in New Delhi, India.
• The event became a huge hit and since its inception Delhi Auto Expo has grown a lot in its size attracting some of the biggest automotive players from the globe. Surprisingly the first Auto Expo recorded a footfall of 500,000 which compelled the organisers to repeat the event and with time it strengthened to become the Numero uno Motor Show in Asia.

• The 2016 Delhi Auto Expo will be the 13th edition and will be held at its new venue in Greater Noida between 5-9 February 2016.
• The most anticipated entries this year will be the launch of Jaguar XE(an entry level sedan), Toyota Vios, Ford Mustang, Volkswagen Ameo, Volkswagen Tiguan, Mercedes-Benz GLC, Mercedes-Maybach S 600 Guard, Mercedes AMG F1 W06 Hybrid, Audi Prologue Concept.
• The British carmaker Bentley (legendary Bentayga Maker), Aston Martin, Maserati and Jeep will also be taking part in the event this year. These major carmakers from the luxury, Off roading and Sports car segment, will be presenting some of their best wheels at the Delhi Auto Expo.
• Apart from the above-mentioned entries, the 2016 Delhi Auto Show will also be welcoming Honda BR-V compact-SUV, Volkswagen's sub-4 metre Compact Sedan, 2016 Audi A4, all-new BMW 7 Series and a lot more.
