How Jaguar XE Will Affect the Luxury Sedan Segment?

Kuala Lumpur: The all-new Jaguar XE is going to get launched in Malaysia tomorrow. With this launch, the ultimate saloon war is about to begin. Jaguar is going to enter a market that consist of many other kingpins like Mercedes-Benz E-class and Audi A6. This may come out to be British automaker's move to shake up the much settled market of both the German automakers. The long awaited XE is equipped with all those features which a luxury sedan should inherit. With its launch coming closer, we at CarBay decided to look out for all its competitors and how Jaguar XE will affect the luxury sedan segment in Malaysia.

Talking about engines, Jaguar XE is employed with a 2.0-litre i4 turbocharged petrol engine which churns out a maximum power of 240 PS. On the other hand Audi A6 is equipped with a 2.0-litre TFSI engine with 182 PS and Mercedes-Benz E-class comes with a 2.0-litre petrol engine with 183 PS. Among the lot, the all-new Jaguar XE comes out to be the most powerful. If you are looking for a car that would be easy on your pockets, then Jaguar XE is your car with an impressive fuel efficiency of 23.8 kmpl. While all three cars can attain a top speed of 250 kmph, but Mercedes-Benz E-Class gains the position of the fastest car with a century sprint timing of just 3.6 seconds.

As far as exteriors are concerned, it totally depends on personal preference with all the models looking equally spectacular. But Jaguar XE seems to be most stylishly designed one with its British feel. While Audi A6 and Jaguar XE has got more of a sporty look, Mercedes-Benz E-Class has got a toned down look with organic styling. Dimension wise, this trio measures almost equal with slight changes in its proportions.

Moving towards the interior, the current A6 and E-Class owners would envy the classy and comfortable cabin of Jaguar XE. XE has the ability to outcast all the features which is being offered by these German automakers. While A6 and XE has got a similar looking interior, the E-Class is designed with a classy and comfortable cabin. All three of them are integrated with latest technologies but Jaguar XE hits the highest mark with its practicality and impressive boot space.

The estimated price of Jaguar XE is RM312,000, while Audi A6 and Mercedes-Benz E-Class is rolled out at RM327,900 and RM338,888 respectively.
