2019 Audi A6 images leaked ahead of the official unveiling
KUALA LUMPUR: Official images of the next generation Audi A6 have been leaked on the internet ahead of its debut in 2018 Geneva Motor Show. The leaked images reveal that the car upholds the brand’s latest design language and inherits styling cues from its sibling A7 hatchback.
Design wise; the next-gen A6 is longer, wider, and taller than its predecessor. Audi has given a sportier look to the car with more rugged haunches over the wheels at the rear. The front profile looks edgier with sharply-cut LED headlights and Audi’s hexagonal-shaped signature grille along with revised inlets. In addition, the car gets fluidic LED tail lights that are linked by a crisp metallic strip, adding a dynamic look to the rear profile. The leaked images have not revealed much about the interior of the next-gen A6. However, we expect to see a cabin somewhat identical to that of the A7. The dashboard will possibly be fitted with the dual-touchscreen infotainment unit, same as seen in the A8 and A7. Alongside, the German automaker is likely to include its Virtual Cockpit digital instruments within the package.
As for the powertrains, the forthcoming A6 sedan is expected to be available with multiple engine options - a 2.0-litre TDI and a 3.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged V6, along with a 4.0-litre V8 engine. In addition, a mid-hybrid plug-in option is likely to be on offer.
However, there isn’t much disclosed yet about the variants; we will know more about the car at the soon to happen Geneva show. The executive sedan is expected to go on sale from April.
