Audi reveals more details of A6 55 TFSI e quattro

KUALA LUMPUR: The German automotive marque, Audi, has revealed new details of its new C8 A6 55 TFSI e quattro. The PHEV model was introduced at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show for the first time.

Under the hood, the A6 55 TFSI e quattro has a combination of a 2.0-litre TFSI engine, an integrated electric motor, and a 14.1 kWh lithium-ion battery. The former (2-litre engine) is capable of pushing out a maximum power of 252 PS, while the peak torque is 370 Nm. The electric motor is capable of providing a maximum power of 143 PS along with a peak torque of 350 Nm. Together, the combination makes a maximum power of 367 PS and a peak torque of 500 Nm. The power is sent to the wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch S tronic transmission.

Coming to the performance, the C8 Audi A6 55 TFSI e quattro takes just 5.6 seconds to complete the 0 to 100 kmph sprint. It can achieve a top speed of 250 kmph. However, using only electric power, the car can achieve a maximum speed of 135 kmph. Also, the battery provides a WLTP-certified driving range of 53 Km. The battery takes just 2.5 hours to be refilled by using a Type-2 cable while plugged into a 7.4 kW charging station.

The hybrid sedan comes with three different driving modes - EV, Hold, and Hybrid. In the EV mode, only the electric power will be used, while in the Hold mode, the sedan will use the power of the petrol engine. The electric power will be reserved for the city roads. In the Hybrid mode, the sedan will use a predictive operating strategy to provide the best efficiency along with using the maximum amount of electric power.

Design-wise, the C8 Audi A6 55 TFSI e quattro features black styling and S line exterior packages as standard. It includes -

In Germany, C8 Audi A6 55 TFSI e quattro has a starting price tag of 68,850 euros, which is equivalent to RM321,441 in the Malaysian currency.
