2024 Kia Sorento facelift revealed with updated styling and more tech

KUALA LUMPUR: Launched in Malaysia earlier this year, the fourth-gen Kia Sorento is up for a mid-cycle update in the home market. The automaker has revealed the first few official photos of the upgraded mid-size SUV, with the full reveal slated for mid-August.

The Kia Sorento facelift boasts the brand’s latest and more refined styling language, elevating the SUV’s whole look. The key revisions include - 

• A redesigned front fascia with a new tiger-nose grille filled with a three-dimensional pattern
• The new grille is flanked by a fresh set of slimmer and boomerang-shaped LED headlights 
• The reworked bumper and hood are there to that make the upgraded SUV looks bolder than the predecessor
• Towards the rear, we can find a restyled rear bumper, a more comprehensive skid plate, and slightly reworked LED tail lights, which now feature connected clusters

• The new Sorento is also kitted with the new Kia emblems and new alloy wheels 
• Kia has added three new tones to Sorento’s colour palette viz. Interstellar Gray, Volcanic Sand Brown, and Cityscape Green
• Inside the upgraded Korean SUV, we get a more streamlined dashboard layout with modern aesthetics
• The dashboard is kitted with a new Panoramic curved display housing two 12.3-inch screens; one for the instrument cluster while the other for infotainment
• The new display is powered by the brand’s Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) operating system

• The new Sorento also benefits from a noteworthy addition in the form of a new fingerprint authentication system; it is positioned on the central console for easy access, allowing users to start the car, activate valet mode, and make secure payments conveniently
• Also part of the upgrade is a new steering wheel, a new ambient lighting bar, redesigned climate controls with slimmer vents
• Adding an opulent touch to the cabin is quilted leather upholstery

No details are yet available on the mechanical upgrades of the 2024 Kia Sorento. The pre-facelift version is being offered in a range of drivetrain choices, including petrol, diesel, as well as hybrid

Kia Sorento in Malaysia

The Kia Sorento comes in three variants in Malaysia - 2.5L 2WD 7-seater, 2.5L AWD 6-seater, and 2.2L Diesel AWD 6-seater. The price starts from RM 211,498 and goes all the way up to RM 255,229.
