2025 Chery Tiggo Cross launched in Malaysia – Full Specs, ADAS features, RM89k–RM100k price

KUALA LUMPUR:  Chery Auto Malaysia has officially introduced the all-new Chery Tiggo Cross, a compact SUV aimed at the value-conscious yet tech-savvy buyer.

Available in two variants – the 1.5 Turbo and the 1.5 Hybrid CSH – the Tiggo Cross enters the competitive B-segment SUV arena priced at RM88,800 and RM99,800 respectively.

Despite its positioning as an entry-level SUV, the Tiggo Cross comes impressively loaded in both variants, with the Hybrid offering a comprehensive ADAS suite and greater fuel efficiency, while the Turbo variant still delivers commendable performance and equipment for the price.

Powertrains and performance

Under the hood, the 1.5 Turbo is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivering 147 PS and 210 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed DCT gearbox and front-wheel drive. It does the century sprint in 10.3 seconds, with claimed fuel consumption of 6.3L/100km.

The more sophisticated 1.5 Hybrid CSH combines a petrol engine (96 PS / 120 Nm) with an electric motor (108 PS / 310 Nm) and a 1.8kWh battery, delivering a total system output of 204 PS. Mated to Chery’s DHT150 hybrid transmission, this variant completes the 0–100 km/h sprint in 8.9 seconds and boasts superior efficiency at 5.4L/100km.

Both variants offer selectable drive modes, with the Hybrid having Eco and Sport, while the Turbo adds a Normal mode in between.

Design

The Tiggo Cross sits on a 2,610 mm wheelbase, with dimensions measuring 4,318 mm long, 1,830 mm wide, and 1,670 mm tall. Despite its compact size, kerb weights are 1,468 kg for the Turbo and 1,565 kg for the Hybrid.

Visually, both variants come equipped with LED headlights, LED DRLs, LED tail lamps, roof rails, a rear spoiler, and 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels, depending on variant.

The Hybrid rolls on 17-inch wheels while the Turbo wears 18s, both with painted alloys and red brake calipers for added flair.

Interior and comfort features

Inside, the cabin is wrapped in black faux leather with a soft-touch dashboard and a host of creature comforts. Both variants get a multifunction leather steering wheel, dual-zone automatic air-conditioning, rear air vents, and a 15W wireless charger.

The driver’s seat features 6-way electric adjustment with lumbar support, while the front passenger gets a manual 4-way seat. Rear occupants enjoy 60:40 split-folding seats with three headrests, plus a rear centre armrest.

Convenience features like keyless entry, remote engine start, auto wipers, maintenance reminders, and a remote trunk open function are also standard.

Infotainment and connectivity

Tech is a major highlight, with dual 10.25-inch displays – one for the driver cluster and another for the infotainment system. Both variants come with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, an intelligent voice assistant, and at least 6 speakers (7 in the Hybrid).

Charging ports are abundant too, with 2 USB ports at the front, 1 at the rear, and a 12V socket.

Safety and ADAS

Both variants offer strong passive safety with six airbags(Turbo), seven(Hybrid), electronic stability control (ESP), traction control (TCS), hill-start assist (HAC), emergency brake assist (EBA), brake assist system (BAS), and TPMS.

The Turbo does have basic ADAS, but some features are not available on the Turbo variant, making the around RM10k price difference a tempting upgrade for tech- and safety-conscious buyers.

The Turbo variant at RM89k offers a lot of metal for the money, while the Hybrid at RM99k undercuts most hybrid SUVs while offering full ADAS coverage and efficiency gains.

The 2025 Chery Tiggo Cross is offered in a range of stylish exterior colours tailored to each variant.

For the 1.5 Turbo, customers can choose from Carbon Black, Phantom Grey, Khaki White, and the striking Blood Stone Red. Meanwhile, the 1.5 Hybrid CSH variant is available in Carbon Black, Phantom Grey, Khaki White, and a unique Moonlight Silver finish exclusive to the hybrid model.

Both variants come with a 7-year manufacturer warranty or up to 150,000 km of coverage, ensuring peace of mind for long-term ownership.

For the Hybrid variant, Chery extends additional protection with an 8-year warranty or up to 160,000 km specifically for the battery power pack, electric motor, and hybrid control unit—a strong reassurance for those entering the world of electrified driving.
