Alfa QV goes toe-to-toe with BMW M Series/Mercedes-AMG

KUALA LUMPUR: The very familiar Qaudrifoglio Verde badge of renowned Italian automaker, Alfa Romeo is all set to blister the marque's destination against BMW M and Mercedes-AMG rivaling cars. The competitive spirit with the respective cars was obvious as Alfa Romeo's main aim since the production of its new venture.

Even more, advanced QV range is to come in the future as information received from Pat Dougherty, CEO - Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (the parent company of Alfa Romeo), in Australia to CarAdvice. Discussing this, he said, “The QV designation will soon be reserved for the Giulia and above, meaning it will come off the Giulietta and models at that end of the Alfa family,” as he told the publication. This statement clearly states that the QV badge is going to maintain ascendancy and will keep their models uniquely upgraded as per advanced technology flourishing in the auto market. “QV won’t become a standalone brand, it will be synonymous with the likes of BMW M, AMG, that sort of thing,” Dougherty confirmed. It is an intimidating threat for the majestic grandeur of BMW's and Mercedes that they should start worrying. The main reason being, Italian automakers can use the expertise in research and development from Ferrari derived powerful engine, twin-turbo V6 that delivers significantly more power than BMW M and even the Mercedes-AMG.

Not just these respective brands are on the hit list in competitiveness to Alfa QV badge. It could point out a host of other models that would proffer astounding performance in the future. As per presumption, launch of next Giulietta would jeopardize A4G AMG model's position if Alfa decides to launch a highly upgraded version of QV.

At the moment, the Giulietta and MiTo are presented with the magical Quadrifoglio symbol of the racing Alfa Romeos on them but it won't be for long. For the same, reason is Alfa's thought for the motion that they are just going to use this sign with high-performance cars and not regular cars.
