Suzuki Fronx Sport arrives in Malaysia - same hybrid power, sharper looks at RM 130,888

KUALA LUMPUR: Alongside the new Jimny AllGrip Plus and Jimny Rhino Plus models, Naza Eastern Motors also introduced a new variant of the Fronx SUV today, the Suzuki Fronx Sport. Designed to appeal to urban customers seeking a stylish and practical compact SUV, the new model features a sportier appearance package.

The Suzuki Fronx Sport is offered as a fully-imported model from Indonesia, priced at RM 130,888 (on the road without insurance), making it RM 12k dearer than the standard model, which now retails for RM 118,888.

What makes the Suzuki Fronx Sport different from the standard model? 

As mentioned, the Fronx Sport is equipped with a sportier exterior package, including several dynamic accessories, giving the compact SUV a more aggressive and youthful look. The list includes -

• Roof top wrap
• 17-inch alloy wheels
• Continental UltraContact UC7 tyres
• Special painting for front lip, rear diffuser, side lip and rear spoiler

What remains the same?

Sharing the same footprint as the standard model, the Suzuki Fronx Sport measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,765 mm in width, and 1,550 mm in height and spans a wheelbase of 2,520 mm. The ground clearance is estimated at 170 mm.

It is powered by the same 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine with an Integrated Starter-Generator (ISG) that generates 103 PS of maximum power at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm of peak torque at 4,400rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

Equipped with a 37-litre fuel tank and a lithium-ion hybrid battery, the SUV offers a WLTP-rated range of over 700 km.
