All-new Honda Accord launched at GIIAS 2019

KUALA LUMPUR: At the 2019 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), Honda Motors has launched the all-new Accord. This is the 10th-gen model of the car and is offered in a sole trim option - the 1.5T model that is priced at Rp 698 juta, i.e., RM 206,033.

As can be known by the variant name, the sedan is powered by a 1.5-litre VTEC turbo mill that offers 190 PS of power and 260 Nm of torque. The 1.5-litre mill comes as a replacement of the ongoing 2.4-litre naturally aspirated unit. However, unlike the current-gen model, there’s no entry-level 2.0L NA trim on offer. The mill is paired to a CVT unit with sport mode and paddle shifters, and it replaces the NA’s five-speed transmission system.

The new Accord measures 4,920 mm in length (10 mm shorter) and 1,860 mm in width (10 mm wider). The roofline is lowered by 15 mm, and the wheelbase is 55 mm longer than before, resting at 2,830 mm. The car’s centre of gravity is now 10 mm lower, and it now rests in 18-inch wheels.
