All-new Suzuki Jimny launched in Singapore

KUALA LUMPUR: At the ongoing The Cars at Expo 2019 auto event in Singapore, Suzuki launched the all-new Jimny. The Champion Motors, the official distributor of Suzuki in Singapore along with the company's CEO also revealed the off-roader's price tag that reads SGD 114,100 (approx. RM 346,328).

Suzuki Singapore will only be offering the new Jimny in one variant in the country. The said Jimny model is powered by a K15B 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder mill that churns out a maximum power of 100 hp at 6000 rpm along with a peak torque of 130 Nm at 4000 rpm. This engine is coupled to a 4-speed automatic gearbox with Suzuki's AllGrip Pro four-wheel drive system.

The all-new Jimny claims to provide improved cabin comfort, thanks to the three-link rigid axle with coil spring at both ends. Further, the car is built on a ladder frame that features additional cross members. Contributing to its off-road performance skills is its 210 mm of ride height, 37-degree approach angle, 49-degree departure angles, 28-degree ramp break over angle, and a turning radius of 4.9 meters.

The Singapore-spec Suzuki Jimny is equipped with features like automatic air-con system, multifunctional steering wheel, automatic LED projector headlamps, 15-inch alloy wheels, and LED tail lights.

Present on the safety and driver assist system front are a rather impressive set of features like - six airbags, autonomous emergency braking, High Beam Assist, Vehicle Sway Warning, Hill Descent Control, ABS, Hill Hold Control, Lane Departure Warning, and Dual Sensor Brake Support.

The car is offered in eight color options and buyers interested in getting a contrasting roof will have to pay SGD 1000 extra.
