BMW Group Malaysia welcomes Benjamin Nagel as new Managing Director and CEO

KUALA LUMPUR: In a strategic move, BMW Group AG has appointed Benjamin Nagel as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BMW Group Malaysia. He will take the official charge on January 1, 2024. 

Benjamin Nagel will succeed the current managing director Hans de Visser, who assumed the role in May 2021. He comes with over 20 years of remarkable experience within the BMW Group for the brands BMW and MINI. Having served as the Head of Sales for BMW Group South Africa since 2020, following his position as Head of Sales at BMW AG in Berlin in 2018, Nagel has shown great leadership over these years.

Jean-Philippe Parain, Senior Vice President Sales Regions Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa expressed his thoughts on this transition. He said, “We are thrilled to welcome Benjamin Nagel as the new leader for BMW Group Malaysia. His extensive experience and proven track record in driving performance and innovation align seamlessly with our vision for bringing Sheer Driving Pleasure to Malaysia.”

BMW Group Malaysia also thanked outgoing Managing Director Hans de Visser for his remarkable tenure. Under his leadership, the company established itself as a top-tier premium automaker for three continuous years. It also grabbed the title of the “Number One electric vehicle provider” in the country with noteworthy accomplishments in both market share and customer satisfaction. 

The entire group thanks de Visser for his invaluable contributions and looks forward to Nagel bringing his wealth of expertise and innovation to his new role.
