BMW M 50th anniversary celebration kicked off

KUALA LUMPUR: Ahead of the main event scheduled for May 24, BMW has kicked off the 50th-anniversary celebration of its famous M division with a release of an emotional video saying “WE ARE M”.

Dubbed as ‘Huddle Speech,” this 90-second clip creates an emotional statement about the past, present, and future of the brand. It features the racing achievements of the BMW M in the world of motorsport and technological advancements. 

We can also see some legendary BMW M models from past and present in the short film. These include M1, M2, the ongoing M3 and M4, M8, and also the M1 000 RR sports bike. Among the latest M products featured on the video are the i40 M50 and XM Concept.

This video is the first chapter out of the four the automaker has planned for the 50 Years campaign. The automaker stated that the first chapter heralds the basic theme of the campaign, while the second will be focussed on the brand’s 50-year motorsport history. 

The third will feature electrification, whereas, in the fourth chapter, we will get to know the unique lifestyle the brand provides. Each of these will be released over a period of one quarter.

“We are proud of the roaring start to our anniversary year on 24 February. The film “Huddle Speech” is in the tradition of extraordinary films for BMW M, but is nevertheless different: it heralds our transformation. We are looking ahead, but continuing to create a feeling of home that defines the great BMW M fanbase,” said BMW M GmbH head of customer, brand, sales Timo Resch.

“We want to celebrate with all the fans, with our international community, therefore we have surprises in store for all communication channels, all year round. We are really looking forward to it.”
