BYD Malaysia turns one; introduces Atto 3 Anniversary Limited Edition

KUALA LUMPUR: The Chinese automaker BYD has successfully completed one year of its operations in Malaysia and the occasion was celebrated with the launch of an all-new special edition BYD Atto 3. Dubbed as the BYD Atto 3 Anniversary Limited Edition, the latest model makes a bolder styling statement with no changes under the skin. It is limited to 500 units only.

The BYD Atto 3 Anniversary Limited Edition is based on the Extended Range variant of the EV. The price tag reads RM 173,800, which is RM 5,370 higher than the regular model which retails for RM 168,430.

By paying this additional price, the customers get a number of exterior enhancements that elevate the overall aesthetic appeal of the electric SUV. These enhancements include a front bumper lip, front bumper panels, a front spoiler, side-step panels, side mirror covers, C-pillar panels, dechromed window panels, a rear spoiler, and a rear diffuser.

The special Atto 3 EV is offered only in two colour options - Boulder Grey and Ski White.

As mentioned above, the powertrain setup remains the same as the donor model. That includes an electric motor generating a maximum power of 201 PS and a peak torque of 310 Nm. The motor is fed by a 60.48-kWh battery pack offering a WLTP-claimed driving range of 420 km on a single charge. With the help of a 6.6-kW AC charger, the battery juices up in 9.5 hours, whereas the 80-kW DC port offers 80% SoC in just 50 mins.

In a jubilant 1st anniversary celebration, Sime Darby Beyond Auto also rolled out several special promotions including -

Make note that these promotions are available for buyers of both BYD Atto 3 and Dolphin EVs. To qualify, bookings must be made before December 31, 2023.
