BYD-owned Yangwang launches U7 ultra-luxury sedan in China
KUALA LUMPUR: BYD’s luxury sub-brand, Yangwang has launched an all-new ultra-luxury sedan in the home market, called the U7. It comes in 4- and 5-seater layouts as well as plug-in hybrid and pure EV versions.

Impressive dimensions
The new Yangwang electrified sedan is based on the automaker’s e4 (Yisifang) platform. The EV measures 5265 mm in length, 1998 mm in width, and 1517 mm in height, and spans a wheelbase of 3160 mm. The PHEV trim, on the other hand, is 5360 mm long, 2000 mm wide, and 1515 mm tall and has a 3200 mm wheelbase.
Lowest drag coefficient
BYD claims that the U7 has the lowest drag coefficient among globally mass-produced cars, measuring at Cd 0.195. The credit goes to its amazing body flow control technology and optimized aerodynamic attachments in multiple areas.
Four e-motors
As mentioned above, the Yangwang U7 comes in two versions - EV and PHEV. The former is powered by four electric motors while the latter incorporates a 2.0T engine on top of four motors. The key specs are as follows -

DiSus-Z suspension system
The sedan comes equipped with a next-level suspension system, called the DiSus-Z suspension system. It replaces the conventional hydraulic shock absorber with a magnetic suspension motor and offers next-level stability and control.
To prove this, the automaker conducted a Kung Fu stunt where a Wing Chun master balanced one leg on the top of the moving car as it rode over speed bumps of different shapes and heights.

At the centre lies a 12.8-inch OLED curved display powered by the new-gen DiLink 150 smart cockpit system and a DiLink 4-nanometer cockpit chip. It is integrated with the DeepSeek R1 model and provides AI voice assistant support.

BYD God’s Eye comes in three tiers - A, B, and C; the ultra-luxury U7 gets the top-spec God’s Eye A suite. It houses two Nvidia Orin-X autonomous driving chips, offering a combined computing power of 508 TOPS. Enabling L2+ advanced driver assistance capabilities are -
