Check out the first official images of Zeekr 001

KUALA LUMPUR: It was only recently that Geely added another feather to its automotive profile, in the form of Zeekr. The newly introduced sub-brand will target the premium electric vehicle segment and compete with players like Polestar, VW, Tesla, and Audi. And, now we have the images of the first EV under the Zeekr brand, called Zeekr 001.

The images you see here might look familiar as they were initially introduced as Lynk & Co Zero Concept back in September 2020. Zeeker vehicles are known to be built on Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) open-sourced from Geely Holding Group. Besides, its vehicles will come with its own management system, battery technologies, EV supply chain support, and motor technologies.

Coming back to the Zeekr 001, this four-door fastback will feature soft-closing doors with frameless windows. Compared to the Geely Xing Yue L, the Zeer 001 gets a more conservative dashboard with a small driver’s display and a larger than average central display.

The first iteration of the group’s (SEA) platform sees the attachment of a motor on each axle. The combined system output stands at 544 hp and 768 Nm. It completes the 0-100 kmph sprint in 3.8 seconds. As for its driving range, the development team targeted a value of over 700 km.

Handling and riding comfort is taken care of by air suspension. Further, the fastback comes equipped with the latest advanced driver assistance systems.

That’s the only information we have on the Zeekr 001, more will be revealed with its launch later this month at the 2021 Shanghai Motor Show.
